I was a student at ECCJC in 1986 and from what I have been reading here simply amazes me after 30 years now nothing has changed about this place! I lasted there for 4 months because the drama going on at the campus.

I recall that the RA were the same as they describe them to be today and yes this place reminded me of a prison because it was one way on the campus and one way off! The Greyhound bus station was actually located on the campus so you could not just leave and the campus was surrounded by woods. The sex scandal, drugs, alcohol, and gangs all existed when I was there and you did not have to look for trouble to be involved in it. The only thing that saved me from a lot of this mess going on is that my father was stationed in Ft.

Knox at the time and came and got me every other weekend. This place use to be an old army base.....I know because I lived my life as an army brat and it was one of the biggest in the USA. This is why some of the dorms for the guys were barracks which explains why everything is located right there on the campus, your clothing store, theater, bowling, etc. They made it so that you did not have to leave the campus for anything other than to visit family or visit the city.

Military bases are set up the same way it's a controlled environment to which everyone had to abide by the rules and they try to discipline you to become responsible abiding citizens, but the integrity of some of the staff was just wrong. I met many people from all back rounds and cultures and everyone clicked with the students who were from their own state which sometimes wound up turning into gangs. I never understood what their orientation for two weeks was all about, but we couldn't speak to anyone, look out of the window, go outside for air, was bused around the campus. I was threatened and almost jumped by females from another state over a guy I didn't even know liked me and when I defended myself I was kicked off the campus and at that point I was ready to go.

I and a friend of mine from Miami were thrown in what they call the campus jail (real Jail) and the guard inside threaten my friend and put his stick in her face. My friend tried to defend herself and push the stick out of her face and he started macing her in the face and she beat his ***!!!

Okay they packed all of our things in a box and sent us home the next morning and I was so glad to leave. Listen to the students because they are not lying send some decoys in and get the real truth like they are doing on the show 60 Days In.

Reason of review: Nothing has changed.
